30’000 Chinese tourists visited Russia during the period from mid-December to 01 February 2017 (5 times more than in the same period a year before). This was announced by Union national and international tourist information organizations (SONATO), based on the data of the companies, organizing the tourist flow to Russia from Asia.
The successful promotion of tourism in China is due to the abolition of visas for Chinese tourist groups, the attractive prices and opportunities for shopping in Russia, and also resulted efforts of special organizations (for example, “Visit Russia”).
“China is the driver of increased demand for tours to Russia and other Asian countries”, – said General Director of the SONATO Alexander Gorokhov. Increased interest in Russia is seen not only from China, but also from Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia. In addition to the rich cultural heritage our country attracts Asian tourists with nature: the snow and white nights.
According to the forecast of SONATO, inbound tourism from China to Russia will continue to grow in 2017. Confederations Cup 2017 will supplement the traditional reasons for visiting Russia.
