The First all-Russian Congress of young restorers under the patronage of the Union of restorers was held on January 30-31, 2017 in Moscow in the Central House of Architect.
The President of the Union of restorers Vyacheslav Fatin, Head of the Agency of management and usage of historical and cultural monuments Oleg Ryzhkov, Chairman of the Central Council of All-Russian society of protection of historical and cultural monuments (Voopiik) Galina Malanicheva, Chief editor of “Zavtra” newspaper, a writer Alexander Prokhanov, and others gave a speech to young generation of restorers.
Each of the speakers have highlighted the most important, from their point of view, aspects of this rare and amazing profession associated with the diligent and hard work. Vyacheslav Fatin stressed the importance of continuity of generations, Oleg Ryzhkov spoke about the importance of studying international experience. Galina Malanicheva tald about volunteer in the restoration, which is now undergoing a revival. Alexander Prokhanov in his usual manner represented restorers as wizards and magicians. The chief architect of the Central scientific restoration design workshops Sergey Kulikov has informed that the restoration will be registred in Russian classification of economic activities by the end of this year.
Roundtables with the leading masters of the restoration were held in the framework of the Congress. Furhtermore, forum’s participants from 13 Russian regions visited Voskresensky New Jerusalem Monastery.
Congress decided to create “Youth wing” section of young restorers in Russian Union of restorers. All-Russian Congress of young restorers will be held every two years.
In addition, there were announced results of “Keeping of the cultural heritage of the region” contest. The winners are 10 participants – representatives of the Vologda, Irkutsk, Tomsk, Suzdal, Voronezh regions, the cities of Naberezhnye Chelny, St. Petersburg and the Republic of Belarus.
