According to Research center Effet, on 19 December 2016 the Russian automobile market there are following important and interesting events:
the company SsangYong Motor Company gradually prepared for the resumption of sales in Russia. A week ago became known the price of the absolute novelty of the brand in the Russian market, the compact crossover SsangYong Tivoli. Now, the Russian distributor of the brand announced the price of its second crossover Actyon returning to the market. The car will cost from 1’169’000, which is 23.2% more than before end of sale. It should be noted that the company is behind the previously announced plans. In September SsangYong Motor Company promised to resume sales in November 2016, but now, apparently, this event is postponed to the beginning of 2017;
other automaker, Volkswagen Group Rus, did not wait for 2017 and began taking orders for its new Volkswagen Tiguan second-generation. The cars will arrive to showrooms in late January 2017, the price of the car starts from 1’459’000, 130’000 RUB (9.8%) more than the cost of the first generation car. In the power range of SUV, in addition to the usual petrol engines, there is a new diesel engine 2.0 (150 HP). The car is produced at the Kaluga plant since November 21, 2016, together with the Tiguan of the first generation. However, until the end of 2016 Assembly of the first-generation Tiguan will be completed;
at the same time, the authorities continued to regulate the lives of motorists of Russia. So, state Duma adopted a draft law allowing the authorities to introduce a fee for entry by cars in separate areas of cities. The act was intended to help the city to deal with traffic jams and to improve road safety. It is worth noting that the bill was criticized by the public and opposition parties. Therefore, most likely, the revision and significant change will follow. Most likely, a toll will be introduced only in major cities and only by decision of the Federation;
another innovation is waiting for car owners with large families – they are offered to exempt from vehicle tax. The bill was introduced in state Duma. These benefits can rely on the owners of cars with engines up to 200 HP, in a family which has three children under the age of 18.
