Updated five-door liftback Skoda Rapid will be represented at Geneva motor in March. Russian sales of the novelty will start in April 2017. Changes affected mainly the exterior and interior of the car. Also, there are such useful things as two USB ports for the rear passengers. Prices and detailed specifications will be published later.
Skoda Rapid is a representative of compact segment. In Europe it is sold as hatchback (spaceback), and we have liftback (sedan) version. Sales of the current generation began in Russia in 2014, when its production started at Kaluga plant of Volkswagen Group.
Range of power units of the car remains the same. Future owners of new liftback will be able to choose petrol engines 1.6 liter of 90 and 110 hp mated to 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. In addition, there is more powerful engine 1.4 TSI (125hp) paired with a 7-speed automatic DSG in power range.
Among intellectual novelties we should highlight ERA-GLONASS system and high-beam assistant (it detects vehicles ahead, as well as on-coming traffic and gently dims the lights as appropriate).
Although prices for new cars have not yet been announced, it is possible to rely on the current level of prices, which starts from 599’000 RUR.
