62 festival of Giacomo Puccini will begin tomorrow in Italy. It will last from 15 July to 13 August 2016.
Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924) was a composer born in Lucca) in Italy in a musical family. He worked as Church organist and choirmaster. Then he studied at the Milan Conservatory, set his famous Opera theatre La Scala. In the city where Puccini was born, the center for the study of his work (Centro Studi Giacomo Puccini) is founded.
The program contains world famous operas “Tosca” (15.07 – 11.08), “La Boheme” (16.07 – 05.08), Turandot (23.07-30.07, 12.08) and “Madame butterfly” (29.07 – 10.08).
The novelty is a production of the Opera “Turandot” Ferruccio Busoni. The vision of the plot of the tale by Carlo Gozzi differs from the famous Opera by Puccini.
