Iranian carmaker Iran Khodro has certified six sedans 206 SD, Dena, Runna, Samand ELX, ELX Soren and Soren Turbo for the markets of the Customs Union. Eurasian Conformity certificates of vehicles allow starting deliveries of Iranian cars to Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
Iran Khodro (IKCO) is the largest Iranian automaker. It produces about 700 thousand buses, cars and trucks annually. In addition to production facilities in Iran it has plants in Syria and Senegal. Earlier machines were also produced in Venezuela, Iraq, Azerbaijan and Belarus.
In 2016, the company has already announced its plans to resume production in Azerbaijan and Belarus, which it sees as good export hubs. It became reasonable only after establishment of Eurasian Economic Union between Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia in 2015. This ensures free movement of goods, services, capital and workforce, including reduced customs duties.
The company notes that these certificates play a key role in adequate and sustainable market share in Russia.
