The famous orchestra will play waltzes from films in the Kremlin Palace

25 Aug 2016 19:00 Grand Symphony orchestra after Tchaikovsky will be performing the music from the movies in the Grand Kremlin Palace. Conductor is Denis Lotoev.

Grand Symphony orchestra was formed in 1930 as a radio orchestra under the direction of A. I. Orlov. Since 1974, the artistic Director of the orchestra is people’s artist of Russia Vladimir Fedoseyev.

The program will include Romance Shostakovich from the film “the gadfly”, Gallop and Waltz by A. Khachaturian from the movie “Masquerade”, Suite from “Blizzard” and “Time, forward!” G. Sviridov and other works.

The concert titled “Big Valzes from cinema” is carried out in the framework of the joint project “Affordable classics” of the State Kremlin Palace and the Bolshoi Symphony orchestra. Besides music it aims at the educational goal. People of all ages – from school to Mature – will be able to learn the history of the pieces performed, to get acquainted with the biography of the composers, to see the themed visuals and get a master class of the waltz and polka from professionals.

In the framework of the same project concerts “Big Russian waltz” (December 15), the “Peace Marches” (February 19) and “Best waltzes and polkas of the world” (may 21).
