The Russian government approved the rules and regulations for availability in the retail agricultural markets. Now every region of the country will be able to calculate the ratio, depending on the number of population, regional requirements, taking into account the remoteness of people from the outlets. The calculation of market standard is contained in government Decision No. 885 from 06 September 2016.
The aim of the regulation is protection of market trading as an important or even the only distribution channel for personal plots, peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs. The need for regulation arose because the share of turnover in the retail markets in the total volume of retail trade fell in 2006-2014 from 19.6% to 8.8%, i.e. there was a threat of further reductions in trading places.
In addition, the government expects a positive effect of the adoption of the Resolution on the availability of the goods for ordinary people.
