Dinara Alieva will show “Swallow” of Puccini in March

Dinara Alieva, OperaArt

The Second international music festival of Dinara Alieva – OperaArt will start on March 7, 2017. Like two years ago, the famous singer, soloist of the Bolshoi theatre invites opera lovers to her festival, which concerts will take place at one of the best academic scenes of Moscow – in the Great Hall of the Conservatory.

Six concerts of OperaArt festival will fill the stately arches of the Great Hall with the sounds of operas. The first performance which will open the festival cycle of the evenings will be «Swallows” of Giacomo Puccini. And the most interesting fact will not be even addressing to the least known opera of great composer, but the fact that the main parties will be performed by singers of the first resonant staging of “Swallow” in Deutsche Oper Berlin.

Dinara is on the professional stage during ten years. She began singing at Baku theatre of opera and ballet, when was studying at the fourth course of Baku State Philharmonic. Then Dinara moved to Moscow. Now she is the leading soloist of Bolshoi theatre, and participates in staging of famous international theatres.

Dinara – the winner of prestigious international music competitions – Plácido Domingo’s “Operalia”, Elena Obraztsova Contest, competitions of Maria Callas and Francisco Viñas in Barcelona. Recently Dinara performed successfully in Italian Theatre of Parma.

“E Vesti” met with the artistic Director of OperaArt festival Dinara Alieva and questioned her about surprises which were prepared this time for many admirers of her talent.

EV: Dinara, how appeared the idea of the festival?

Dinara Alieva: Now it is 10 years of my serious creative work. I’m at that stage when I can organize a profound festival. I thought: “I’m good at something, I can do something – so I can share the experience, to tell something, to open up new names”. The festival is a continuation of creativity. And this is my second festival.

EV: How is your festival representative and what is its geography?

Dinara Alieva: the First festival was held at a high level, we have set the bar high. Firstly, its concerts took place in the Conservatory, one of the best halls of Moscow. It is beautiful in its acoustics, but also demanding. Each singer or instrumentalist error is audible in the room. Secondly, even for the first festival we invited worthy names, good conductors Daniel Oren, Ion Marina.

We also invited Daniel Oren for the second festival. He is in the TOP10, or even TOP5 of the best conductors in the world, primarily as an outstanding interpreter of Verdi and Puccini. His performance at the last festival was his first visit to Moscow. At the second festival he will be conducting the opera “Il Trovatore” in concert edition. I hope that the second festival will be held even more successfully and monumentally than the first one! We will stage “Swallow” by Puccini in a concert edition, this performance will open the festival. My goal is to represent something new, new names, new projects, and new opera to audience. This opera had never been performed in Moscow and, in general, it is rarely staged in European theatres.

Besides world-famous masters, I want to show talented young performers and conductors, including beginners. The first festival was attended by my compatriots – Azerbaijanis, one of them, Azer Rzazade, who studied at the Academy of La Scala.

Festival will be held in Moscow. I hope that the geography of the third festival will expand significantly. Our plans are to bring it to St. Petersburg and Prague, Athens and Berlin, to invite Daniel Oren, Ion Marin and others.

EV: How did you come to the Opera stage, whose were your mentors?

Dinara Alieva: I grew up in a creative family. Music sounded always in our house. Mother was children’s chorus master. She has 40 years of experience. Her second specialty is the director of children’s theater. My grandfather is the National Actor of Dagestan, he was co-founders of “Lezginka” ensemble. Uncle was an actor. And I went to music school for piano classes since six years old. My father brought me there. He really wanted me to become a pianist.

I was singing since childhood. And it’s probably my mother’s influence. All her dreams she embodied in me. Being as a pianist, I was more interested to express and realize myself as an artist, not just a performer. That’s why I chose the profession of opera singer.

Among those who definitely need to mention – I have a wonderful vocal teacher Svetlana G. Nesterenko. There will be a gala concert devoted to her in festival, where you can hear soprano Ekaterina Lekhina, Olga Guryakova and Marina Zyatkov, tenor Alexey Neklyudov, the bass Alexander Vinogradov.

EV: What would you wish to your admirers?

Dinara Alieva: Any artist has fans and foes. We can’t please everybody.

But to all people, not just to fans, I would wish peace, good mood, and health!
